These NPCs only appear in the Elona+ version of Elona and were added in 1.30 version. They randomly appear in the cities, disguised as citizens. You can ask a citizen "are you a werewolf"? If the citizen in question is a werewolf, they drop their disguise and rabidly attack everyone. Drops disguise set upon defeating.

They can also appear undisguised in dungeons. These may also drop disguise set upon defeat, but the drop rate appears to be somewhat lower.

There is a bug in English version which causes the name returned to "werewolf", then added extra "f"s each time the werewolf's name is displayed on the log. The name might become quite long, like "werewolfffffffffffffffffff". This might cause the game to crash, probably when the name exceed the maximum number of characters. A temporary solution is to interact with the werewolf in question, then rename him/her. The name will revert to "werewolf" soon enough, but at least the risk of crashing the game is lowered.
