Weight Lifting is a strength based skill which increases the amount of weight you can carry before taking penalties (which starts at carrying over half of a character's weight limit). Each point of Weight Lifting will increase your maximum carrying weight by 2s. Like most skills, improving weight lifting is possible on the world map.

You train Weight Lifting by doing anything that cost turns while Burdened or heavier; however, carrying more will not increase the rate at which it is trained.

While Weight Lifting will improve your maximum carry weight, it will not affect the maximum inventory size (200 items for you, 20 items for your pets).

Maximum weight[]

A character's weight limit is calculated using the formula:

45 + (Strength/2) + (Constitution/4) + (Weight Lifting*2)

For example, a character with 100 Strength and 100 Constitution needs 65 weight lifting to carry 250s without being overburdened. Note that the absolute maximum that you can carry and still move around is twice this.

Cutoffs for the burdened status effects are 50% (Burden), 75% (Burden!), 100% (Overweight), and 200% (Overweight!). Being burdened reduces speed, and being overweight may cause damage each turn.
