Traveling is a Will based skill that increases the experience gained from traveling on the world map. The bonus is relatively small and the skill is slow to train. Increased experience is also of dubious worth since raw experience increases monster difficulty but does not increase attribute or skill levels. However, there are few other ways to raise Will.
Elona[]
Weather affects travel speed: Rain increases travel time by 30%, heavy rain by 60%, snow by 120%, and etherwind reduces this time by 50%.
Snow terrain doubles travel time, in addition to any stops made.
Each tile is approximately 4 miles.

Traveling can be learned from the trainers in Noyel, Vernis, and Port Kurualm.
Elona+[]
Became a speed-based skill.
Experience from Traveling is stored in their owned property by using a house board or register.
The skill will give a small amount of bonus attribute experience.
Random events (but not dreams, events after waking up, and the child-rearing ones) now give Traveling experience. Accumulated Traveling experience can be used when on a map of a deed you own. When used, that amount of experience is awarded to the player character and all pets on the map, and goes towards every single skill. This ignores skill potential and Training-day modifiers, but not level modifiers. When this causes a skill to level up, its potential does not decrease.
The Tourist class, Karune, Roran, and Rabbit races are trained in the skill.

Omake Overhaul[]
Traveling decreases chance of encountering ambushes and rogue bosses. It is best to avoid learning this skill if you want to encounter rogue bosses. Even a small amount of traveling skill will cause you to need several times your maximum capacity in cargo to encounter them.
Escort quests are not affected.
