Thieves are a type of hostile NPC.
They will usually (70%) attempt to move to melee range before attacking. Their attacks consist of unarmed attacks (75%), and the suspicious hand special action (25%), which steals some of the target's gold.
They have the cDropGold bit flag which makes them drop all their gold upon death.
You can purchase one from the slave master in Derphy for 1067 gold once you reach level 3; however, there really isn't much of a point to having one as a pet. They are horribly weak and for 200 gold more, you could buy their stronger cousin, the robber.
Evolution[]
In Elona+, thief can be evolved into Gizoku with a <Another Heart>, gaining 20 Dexterity, 10 Will, 10 Speed, the Golden Storm special action, 10 Pickpocket skill, and a new sprite.
