Smash ogres are a type of hostile NPC in the Elona+ mod of Elona. They were added in the 1.37 patch.

The almost always (95%) attempt to move to one square away before attacking. Their attacks consist of melee attacks, which is always a hammer, throwing their ranged weapon if they aren't adjacent, which is always a rock (88%), or smash ground (12%), a melee attack that hits all adjacent enemies.

Smash ogres are innately immune to fear. They and any other variant have a severe weakness to soybeans, throwing one at them gives a similar reaction to salt hitting a snail.

Smash ogres cannot be evolved.

Trivia[]

The Smash Ogres are based on the Oni, mythical supernatural ogres or trolls that cause disaster and misfortune wherever they go. Some villages would hold yearly festivals, throwing soybeans outside their homes to ward them off.
