Nurses are a classic roguelike enemy. They do not attack, instead casting a healing spell at their target until they run out of mana and die. They can be exploited to keep your character at full health.
You may purchase one from the Slave master in Derphy for 1320 gold, but since they will only heal your enemies, they are only really useful for Gene Engineering. In Elona+, having one as a pet does make it much easier to survive since Healing Rain is powerful so early in the game. Party Time gets much easier since you can be healed multiple times while performing.
Elona+ changes[]
Nurses have been fixed to cast Healing Rain on their allies rather than healing their enemies, so you should kill enemy nurses rather than leaving them alive. Catching or buying one as a pet is even better.
Evolution[]
Nurse can be evolved with an <evolution heart>, into Red Cross, gaining 15 Will, 15 Magic, 10 Life, 10 Speed, the Rain of sanity special action, and a new sprite.
