<Norne> the guide is a friendly NPC that gives advice to players at the beginning of the game. He never actually shows up in vanilla Elona, only his text boxes and portrait are seen. In Elona+ however, he returns as a full, interacting NPC with a sprite and purpose: to create a convenient passage between Lost Irva and North Tyris.

Finding <Norne>[]

After the seventh floor of Cradle of Chaos has been visited and the player exits the dungeon, <Norne> will say a few words, and the Shrine of Guardian becomes accessible. <Norne> is here, and when talked to, he teleports the player to the North Tyris overworld, next to Larna. He can now also be found in the northeastern corner of Larna, where he teleports the player to the Lost Irva overworld, next to the Shrine of Guardian.

As an NPC[]

<Norne> has a number of abilities, including Magic Dart, Teleport and the rarely-used Death Word special action. In addition, <Norne> has innate abilities to auto-cast Death Word, resist Confusion and to float. His elemental resistances are lost upon recruitment except for Darkness, Mind, Nether, Sound, Nerve, and Chaos, which remain superb (and these are unique to him, not due to the Fairy racial feat).
