The <Nightmare> (a brave knife when unidentified) is a throwing weapon that is obtained as random rare loot from Knights (a 1/300 chance). This weapon can only be obtained in Elona+. It has a unique sprite (different from that of a kitchen knife), but is also tinted black.
A unique feature of this weapon is that it deals full damage regardless of distance, with a damage modifier of 10 no matter how far away the enemy is. Throwing this weapon with the special action Over Long Throw may therefore result in a weaker attack.
