New Year's Gift

A New Year's Gift is a gift that can be gotten from an adventurer when they visit in January. You can get more than one of these a year. They can be a good thing to wish for once you've gotten all the best items.

Contents

The contents can be horrible pranks or delightful gifts (such as kagami mochi). It depends on how much the adventurer who gives the gift likes you. See the section on recruiting adventurers for methods of improving your relationship level with adventurers.

Known results from gift depending on the adventurers relationship status:

• <Normal> Relationship
  • It's a trap! The gift ignites.
    • Fire goes everywhere. Note that if the adventurer is caught in the fire, s/he will blame you, plus you'll get a karma loss.
  • Something jumps out from the pack!
    • Monsters go everywhere.
  • You find a cursed letter inside.
    • Some of your equipment gets cursed.
• <Amiable> Relationship
  • There's something inside the pack.
    • One of the following items will be dropped on the ground.
      • furniture piece
      • platinum coin
      • dead fish
  • *ring*
    • 1 bell is summoned
• <Friend> Relationship
  • There's something inside the pack.
    • One of the following items will be dropped on the ground.
      • furniture piece
      • small medal
  • *ring ring*
    • 1-2 bells are summoned
• <Fellow> Relationship
  • The pack contains your younger sister!
    • Younger sister is summoned. While it says it's your younger sister, it is not your companion until it is caught.
  • There's something inside the pack.
    • One of the following items will be dropped on the ground.
