Luck affects many different skills and abilities in ways that are still as yet unknown. It is one of the hardest attributes to increase, the other being Speed. It is not displayed on the character information screen.
What Luck Affects
After cheating to huge amounts of luck, many effects are easily observable. Luck has an effect on
- Fishing
- Greater Evasion
- Playing blackjack
- Finding good random events
- Preventing bad random events
- Quality of equipment drops
but has no observable effect on
- Weather
- Stealing
- Etherwind disease
- Number or quality of job offers
- Hit rate
- Damage
Increasing your Luck
There are only five known ways to permanently increase your luck, those being:
- Taking the three feats that increase Luck.
- Wishing for
Skillluck
. - Getting a luck boost from Ehekatl of Luck if you worship her.
- Eating a rabbit's tail.
- Eating a happy apple.
- Eating a kagami mochi
Luck can also be temporarily increased by:
- Having a lucky day (a random buff obtained when sleeping that lasts for 1500 turns).
- Eating blessed food (v1.14).
- Using a Statue of Ehekatl (buff lasts for 2500 turns)
The exact values of these temporary increases vary and are shown as a hint on the character sheet.
How Much Luck Increases By
Characters have a starting luck value of 50.
- Getting a luck feat adds +5 luck. This can be done 3 times to total +15 luck.
- Wishing for "skillluck" gives +1 luck
- Wearing mica equipment gives +3 luck while it's equipped
- Eating a rabbit's tail gives +1 luck
- Eating a kagami mochi gives +2 luck
- Eating a happy apple gives +20 luck
- Having a Lucky Day boosts luck by 777 for 1500 turns
- Feeling lucky from blessed food boosts luck by 100 for around 700 turns
- Using the Statue of Ehekatl boosts luck by 77
Luck doesn't have a potential associated to it (unlike Speed and the base attributes), so a Happy Apple will always give 20 luck and a Rabbit's Tail will always give 1 luck. Base luck is capped at 2000.
