<Gwen> the innocent is a named neutral NPC in Yowyn that follows you around. She sometimes drops the secret treasure of the saint. Killing her results in no karma loss so that, added with the fact that she is named, makes her good to kill if you have a museum or want a corpse.
In combat, she attacks from melee, and lacks any special actions or spells. She cannot be dominated or captured.
It's possible for her to become stronger than average (like normal monsters during Etherwind or above-normal-level 'out of depth' monsters found occasionally in dungeons) allowing her to not only be resistant to many attacks, but to even wield artifacts. If this happens, attacking her early on may not be a very good idea.
Evolution[]
If copied with an astral light pen, <Gwen> the innocent can be evolved with an <evolution heart> to what the Japanese wiki calls <Gwen> the innocent warrior, gaining 10 to strength, constitution, speed, and life, but no new abilities.

Changes in Elona+[]
In Elona+, her sprite has been changed to the one on the left, and, as mentioned above, she has gained an evolution. Furthermore, once the Main Quest is completed, Gwen the innocent grows up into <Gwen> the pitiless.
Also in Elona+, she starts with 3 ranks (115% potential) in Tactics, like all Warmages, and has the Firearms skill at 4 ranks (120% potential).
Trivia[]
- Her name refers to Gwen from Guild Wars: Prophecies, a little girl that follows you around during pre-Searing. Numerous references in her dialogue, such as the red cloak (which the main character can give to Gwen in Guild Wars), point in that direction as well.
