Despite their low attributes and skills, gold bells dodge surprisingly well. They drop a large sum of gold, a random amount between 2500 and (Fame + 1000), upon dying. They have an innate ability to float and innate resistance bonuses against physical and elemental attacks. Riding them incurs the riding penalty due to their small stature.
General Advice[]
Gold bells when captured function exactly like silver bell in which with their insanely high speed and resistances make them killing machines for Act 1 and most of Act 2. It's ideal to equip them with laser guns or machine guns because of how range modifiers work which can be read on Ranged Weapons. Laser guns never drop off in damage no matter how close or how far the enemy is from the bell, while machine guns have accuracy bonuses and can activate Eye of Mind more often. Keep in mind both gold bell and Silver bell only have 1 life and will need either Rubynus gear, Hero Cheese, and/or The Oblivion Palace in Act 2 to reset their stats so they can obtain AP to gain life if you decide to keep using bells going into late game.
Changes in Elona+[]

They are easier to distinguish from other monsters due to a glowing effect added to them (similar to that of gems and special artifacts). They also lost their elemental damage reduction in several versions, though, as of the latest releases, this change seems to have been reverted.
