Vehicles

Vehicles, or World-Vehicles, are a way for the player to travel around the world map, added in Elona+ 1.98.

Vehicles can be obtained by reading their corresponding deed, with the tint of the deed carrying over to the vehicle's sprite, with the deed being consumed in the process. Only one vehicle can be owned at a time. Reading another vehicle's deed will overwrite the current vehicle. The vehicle currently being used can be discarded by talking to some deed selling NPCs, such as those found in the Embassy and selecting the option "I want to discard my world-vehicle.".

All vehicles reduce the time taken to 0.6 and are able to move at normal speed in the wilderness when the cart is overloaded.

Types of Vehicles

Carriage

• Maintenance costs 500 gp per month.
• Increases cargo limit by 10.

Truck

• Maintenance costs 2,000 gp per month.
• Increases cargo limit by 20.
• Reduces travel time by another 0.6 when traveling on road tiles, effectively reducing travel time to 0.36.

Magic Locomotive

• Maintenance costs 10,000 gp per month.
• Increases cargo limit by 30.
• Removes travel speed penalty by being on snow.
• Reduces the player character's MP by a small amount for each tile traveled on the world map.
• Wishing for its deed gives a deed of carriage instead.

Land Battleship

• Maintenance costs 200,000 gp per month.
• Increases cargo limit by 100.
• Is immune to desert heat.
• Completely prevents monster and rogue encounters. Doesn't prevent assassins, the chestnut giant, and wandering vendor events.
• Wishing for its deed gives a deed of carriage instead.
• Sprite is stretched out horizontally, doubling its width.
