Martial artists are an expert close quarters combatant with their fists. Their toughness allows them to hand out devastating hits even with their bare hands giving them the power to shatter boulders.

The Fighter, or Martial artist, is a physical combat class exclusive to Omake Overhaul.

It is a class that specialises in unarmed combat.

Class Feats[]

Name Effect
Martial Arts Expert You have mastered the art of close combat. [Unarmed Dmg +70%]
Close Combat Apprentice Weapon <1.5s equipped complements close combat [For two hand, weapon + 5% of Martial Arts DMG]
Steel Fist Your fists are strong enough to bend iron. [Rarely Dims, +35% pierce on crit]

Starting Equipment[]

  • A Helm
  • A Club
  • A Shield
  • A Breastplate
  • A Heavy Boots
  • 2 bottles of crim ale 0.1s
  • 4 rations 1.6s
  • 8 cargoes of traveler's food 16.0s

Strategies[]

Aspiring players who want to pick this class should maximize the Martial Artist feat to Ken-Sei/Holy Fist ASAP (2 feat points for 100% unarmed damage increase). Since Martial Arts lacks additional hit/damage modifiers outside of armors, a steady access to buffs such as Hero and Holy Shield is crucial for your survival (through either potion hoarding or spellcasting). Picking the Hypnotism feat also helps to stun hard-to-hit or stronger foes to even your odds with them; it doesn't work against ghosts and undeads though.

Another thing to keep in mind for players who want to role play the classic RPG unarmed monk: in the omake variants, a PC that doesn't equip any armor (including rings and necklaces) will have its natural DV and PV applied instead (50 DV for most humanoid races, 150 DV for Fairy. PV entirely depends on level). Depending on your game state this might be more practical than fighting in armor.

Martial artists who pursue the magic path may earn a quasi class promotion through the Magic Guild. By completing the ancient books fetch quest and raising your rank to Candidate you can talk to Revlus the mage guildmaster to change your class to Warmage. Doing this will enable your PC to use Enchant Element Special action for all elements except cut and poison.

Races[]

Being a straightforward melee class that doesn't demand much, any races with more speed than a Snail may reap an equal benefit from this class. Fairy however, benefited the most from this class. The Fairy's severe equipment restriction is rendered moot by the Fighter's weapon of choice (unarmed or two hand with <1.5s weapon). Their high innate resistance and evasion also helps. Be warned though, this will leave you with a glass cannon character. Critical hits, Shield Bash and Artifact weapon procs will mince you in one shot. To alleviate this, it is recommended to pick up the Guts feat that lets you survive a fatal blow once per sleep.

Gods[]

Similar to the other warrior classes, every god can help this class in their own way. Opatos of Earth might seem obvious due to his strength bonuses, but you'll need need more than melee attack to survive in the long run. It's not like you can use any of the god weapons effectively anyway, so it pretty much boils down to your preference
