Gets you closer to god. As your Faith skills rises and you make more offerings, the stat bonuses your god offers you will increase.
You also receive Gifts from your god at certain levels of Faith and if you have made enough offerings. When you have reached the maximum level of offering with your faith level, subsequent offering would return in "<God> is indifferent with your offering" message as the offering is consumed. The more valuable an item is, the more the offering is worth. If you have a lot of income, you can regularly buy out shops of whatever goods your god takes and build up your offerings that way.
Besides spending skill points, you can increase your Faith skill through the 'Blessed by a Saint' dream, reading an 'Art of Faith', taking the Faith-based feats, or wearing pious equipment. Pious equipment is especially useful for easily reaching the Faith level needed for gifts without spending any skill or feat points.
Scrolls of Faith are also available that both increase your Faith and act as offerings of sorts. When read, your Faith will increase and something equivalent to a mid or high level offering is made.
Gifts
- A companion at about 15-20 Faith.
- A secret treasure and/or gem stone at about 25-30 Faith.
- God weapon at about 42-45 Faith.
Higher value obtained using a lvl1 character without any special equipments in wiz mode.
