Chickens are hostile NPCs in Elona. Weak enemies with no special actions or spells. In combat they prefer to attack from melee.
Do not confuse them with the much stronger Cockatrice, as the only thing they have in common is their passive chatter.
They produce eggs at a faster rate than other NPCs if put in a Ranch.
Evolution[]
In Elona+, Chickens can also be evolved into an Ultimate chick with an <another heart> in Elona+, gaining 10 will, 10 charisma, 10 dexterity, 30 speed, and a sprite change.

Changes in Elona+[]
Chickens in Elona+ are now part of the bird race, and as mentioned above, have gained an evolution. Also, they now spawn with trained levels in Eye of Mind, Greater Evasion and Firearm, plus 40 more Speed, though they are still rather weak.
They also have new sprite which depends on sex. The sprite number for chicken is 274 for male and 813 for female.
