I encountered an enemy named <golden armor> while reading spellbooks in the wilderness. I'm confident it wasn't summoned by a misread, as I was clearing up easy books and my allies all left the screen to fight it.
My character is level 26 and I was in the wilderness one tile away from Palmia (but not on the road).
It wasn't named a golden mass, although it looked like one. I don't know what its stats were like but it was slaying my pets in one hit. (Does damage to your allies show up in the text scroll? I didn't see any.)
I killed it by spamming bolt rods at it and teleporting it away whenever it got close. I think it had a damage-reduction bit set as well as an enormous HP pool. It dropped a card and a corpse, some gold and a couple (good) weapons.
I don't know what else to do about it but report that it happened.

- It wasn't named a golden mass, although it looked like one.
- Turns out that the golden mass got renamed to golden armor at some point in development. Checked vanilla 1.16, it's already "golden armor" there. Ditto in E+1.72. Updated relevant entries, thanks for the report!
