You can choose a Brown bear as a pet on your first visit to Vernis. First pet's stats depends on your level, so if you choose the Brown bear at first level, it will have lesser skills and stats and better potential.

Evolution[]

In Elona+, brown bears have two paths of evolution. They can either become a Demon Bear or Nanook, both can then be further evolved into a Thunder Bearga.

First Stage[]

Path A[]

Brown bear can be evolved into a Demon Bear with an <evolution Heart>, gaining 30 strength, 20 speed, and a new sprite.

Path B[]

Brown bear can be evolved into a Nanook with a <god Heart> gaining 30 strength, 30 life, 30 speed, changing their cold resistance to Normal, and a new sprite.

Second Stage[]

First stages of both paths can be evolved again into a Thunder Bearga with an <another heart>, gaining 20 strength, 5 speed, and 10 tactics if previously evolved with an <evolution heart> (Demon Bear), or 20 strength and 5 speed, if previously evolved with <god heart> (Nanook). In both cases, magic resistance changes to Normal and the sprite changes.

Customization[]

The sprite number for the brown bear is 222.

Elona+ Changes[]

In later versions of Elona+, the brown bear and grizzly have a changed sprite. The sprite number remains the same, but the sprite is now tinted brown.

Additionally, they gain the predator class, along with slightly enhanced skills and statistics.
