Asuras are hostile NPCs. They are formidable enemies for their level and possibly the first encounter the player will have against a dual wielding enemy.

In combat, they prefer to close in to attack from melee, using their ranged weapon if they're too far. They always equip Short Swords and shuriken of (Bad) or (Good) quality and cheap materials. Their race includes four hand slots, combined with the additional weapons they can equip, ensure that they get multiple hits per turn.

Their multiple attacks and critical rate also make them excellent Evasion and Greater Evasion trainers; just skip turns (by pressing either s or 5 in the numeric keypad) and let the Asura attack you, the skill will train itself. Just make sure you have an exit to heal, sleep, and eat safely.

As with other Asura NPC, there's a low (1/400) chance of them dropping the Twin Edge upon death.

Evolution[]

Asura can be evolved into a Asura king with a <king heart>, gaining 20 life, 30 strength, 20 speed, Killing Dance special action and a new sprite.

The sprite number for asura is 405.

Elona+ changes[]

Asura remain mostly unchanged in Elona+, only gaining the trained Firearm skill like many other NPCs. Another change was the addition of the Weight Lifting skill as a racial skill.

Asura originate from both the multi-armed Buddha and Hinduism deities or demigods addicted to passion and violence.
