Most of the time I use the Little Girl as my vanguard. Not sure about how a Predator should behave, but if you're weak enough (has low HP and low PV) don't engage the enemy by yourself in close combat. Though, being a melee class, you would want to fight in close combat, so get some equipment with CON and PV (even if you prefer evasion, in my opinion DV is useless early game).

For ranged attacks, I'd rather not use gun since the skill Firearm trains is PER. You have good DEX, so use DEX-based skill like Bow, Crossbow, or Throwing. But well, thats just an initial stat and can change in the future.

For combat, you can go to the story dungeon 'Lesimas', the monster there in first few floor should be easy. Puppy cave is also an option, but the enemy is pretty random and can be strong. Or you can gather gold by doing 'job', check the job board in Town, watch the difficulty. Harvest time job should be pretty easy and requires no combat at all.

Agreed on the Harvest Time quests. You can easily get lots of good items from the random junk and gain lots of gold (by exceeding the quota up to 3X) and plat and use those to buy up skills and gather seeds for your future farm. Get a horse to ride and Riding/Weight Lifting, to make things easier for yourself.

I fully cleared the Puppy Cave and now I'm just grinding the Harvest Time! jobs. I plan on buying a farm soon. I have the Gardening and Riding skills too. I found that as Predator it doesnt really matter if you actually go melee or not, as I've just been Throwing and shooting (i haven't been able to find a decent bow yet) enemies. I also agreed with Harvest Time! job, you can start doing that immediately after you have Gardening and Weightlifting skills. I suggest you should do this job more often and collect money to buy farm deed. If you got herb seeds, plant them in your farm. You'll be powerful in no time.

If you are struggling about hitting your enemies, use magic. If the magic did not fail when casted, it surely will hit your target. But this is only optional if you want to go full melee predator build. At least, prepare some basic magic like cure wounds and small teleport would save you in the future. (Note: I loved Magic Eye feats tho because it can deal termendous damage to Liches, and Liches were hard to hit. xp)

I will definitely have to get Magic Eye, currently I am saving for a Farm deed, but I'm also hoping to get lucky and get a wish from a well at some point. I have a really low MAG stat, but I can use most spellbooks, rods, and scroll to a decent degree.

I would hold off on planting herb seeds until you have a couple dozen Gardening levels, since those are much harder to get and grow. Veggie seeds will help you with Kumiromi's gem stone, which you can get multiple copies of (abuse god switching), and stop your herbs from dying.
